Comfort
|
- Louvres can direct
air throughout your entire house, providing natural ventilation from
floor to ceiling.
|
|
Views
|
- Your louvre system,
installed as a wall panel, can provide clear views to the outside.
- Equally, by choosing
the appropriate blade, you can obtain privacy, where required.
- Often a combination
of clear and privacy blades is appropriate.

Energy
Efficiency
|
- The natural ventilation
provided by louvres can often eliminate the need for air-conditioning.
- Even in wet weather
you can leave the blades part open to continue ventilation throughout
your home.
- Louvres can be
used most effectively to ventilate high ceiling space.
|
|
Design
|
- Many design options
of multiple bays, and combinations with fixed glass, or coupled to other
units such as sliding doors, provide a range of ideas to enhance your
home.
- Louvres with timber
blades make for excellent room partitioning.
|
|
Practicality
|
- Louvres are easy
to clean from the inside.
- Little or no maintenance
is required due to the inherent design of the product.

Selecting
your Louvres

|
In selecting your
louvres, consider the following:
-
Select wind
loading and water rating. You may need to consult your local authority
and refer to the relevant Australian
Standards.
-
Choose the frame
type (Surround Frame or Louvre Component System) and width (131mm
or 52mm).
Choose the clip size (102mm or 152mm wide).
-
Choose the blade
material. Here you will consider privacy, views, heat control (e.g.,
tinted glass) and visual appeal.
Toughened glass will be needed if you have a floor-mounted assembly
and certain other situations.
-
Find the size
frame you require.
-
Add reveals,
security and/or screening and coupling of units, if required
