How to Order your Windows and Doors

When ordering your windows and doors we will ask you a number of questions so that we can fully understand your requirements. We suggest you consider the following prior to ordering:

1
Style of window (eg, sliding, double-hung).
2
Direction of opening. Always viewed from the outside.
3

Size, expressed as height x width.

Note that this is the aluminium frame size. You need to allow for reveals, if any (about 20mm thick), and the gap to the inside edge of your frame (usually 10mm).

For example, a 1200mm x 1500mm window width with reveals, will need a stud opening of 1250mm high x 1550mm wide.

4
Wind rating.
5
Type of glass (clear, obscure, tint, toughened). For toilet windows is a vent needed? If the window is in a wet area or in a stairwell, is safety glass required?
6
Reveals, if required. Size and type (Meranti, finger-jointed pine, LOSP treated). Flashing, if required.

8
Screens - security or fly.
