A Reveal is a timber surround fitted to the fin and used for installing a window or door into timber framing.
The size of the reveal is the combined width of :
timber stud, internal lining and cavity (for brick veneer);
timber stud and internal lining for timber frame.

Reveal Size = Internal lining (say 10mm) + Stud size (say 75mm) = 85mm |

Reveal Size = Internal lining (say 10mm) + Cavity (say 35mm) + Stud = 116mm for 70 or 75mm stud = 135mm for 90 - 100mm stud. |
